About biodynamic food
While the word “organic” might have several general meanings
when it is directly applied to the manufacture and production of
food it is strictly regulated by law. Producers and manufacturers
who use the word ‘organic’ in their products need to
be registered with a recognised organic accreditation organization.
It’s the role of accreditation organizations to ensure that
producers comply with national and international guidelines, keep
detailed records of their production processes and agree to submit
to annual inspections.
Here in Australia a number of independent organizations perform organic
certification. This accounts for the different ‘certified organic’ logos
that you find on packaged organic items.
