About organic food
About biodynamic food
Organic agriculture differs significantly from conventional farming
practices. Rather than relying on synthetic fertilizers and synthetic
pesticides, livestock feed additives and plant growth regulators,
organic farming depends on crop rotation, compost, green manure and
biological pest control. Organic foods are also GM and irradiation
free.
Organic agriculture takes a holistic approach, considering the wider social
and ecological impact of farming. It is concerned with the overall health
of micro-organisms, soil flora and fauna, plants and animals in order to increase
the long-term fertility of soils.
